What is the “Foundation Program” by University of Europe (UE)?
Foundation year - A unique experience
UE Foundation Year (Studienkolleg) is a one-year pre-studies programme for qualified international high school graduates without direct access to a German university conducted by University of Europe of Applied Sciences.

your secondary school examination allows you to study in your home country, but not directly in Germany, it is very likely that after the Foundation Year at University of Applied Sciences Europe and an intensive and qualified preparation for succeeding the “Feststellungsprüfung”, you will have access to your chosen field of study at a German university.
What is Special About UE Foundation Program?
After succeeding the Foundation Year at University of Europe for Applied Sciences you will likely have access to your chosen field of study at one of the (public) German universities. Public Universities in Germany do not charge students with a tuition fee. There are some exceptions to there being no tuition fees in public universities.
What Can You Study at UE Foundation Program?
The Foundation Year curricula has been conceptualised especially for the needs of the bachelor programme the student would like to apply for after the Foundation Year (Studienkolleg).
Course Overview
UE Foundation Year (Studienkolleg) offers three different courses:
W – Course English (Business): enables you to study English-taught bachelor programmes in business and social sciences.
W – Course German (Business): enables you to study German-taught bachelor programmes in business and social sciences
T – Course (Technology): everything will be held in German and prepares you for a technical study programme
Final Exam - “FESTSTELLUNGSPRÜFUNG“
UE Foundation Year (Studienkolleg) starts on 15 October and the lessons last until the end of May. The final exams (“Feststellungsprüfung”) will take place in June.
You will receive your results just in time before the matriculation deadline at public universities starts (15 July). You will therefore complete your Foundation Year (Studienkolleg) in a timely manner, before your matriculation at a public university or at one of the campuses of University of Applied Sciences.
UE has official status to offer the „Feststellungsprufung“and all certificates have the official acknowledgment of „Berzirksregierung Koln“. By passing the exam, you will have the opportunity to apply for a bachelor‘s degree programme in the respective field of study that is consistent with your course during your Foundation Year. Please note that universities in Germany do not have to accept an application under all circumstances and sometimes have additional requirements.
